Designers' Showcase
Tuesday 15th July 2008, Paintworks

The West of England Design Forum's first ever, public exhibition of members' work was deemed a great success for promoting and supporting the burgeoning design industry in the West.

The Designers' Showcase ran between 15-17 July, at the Paintworks, Bristol, exhibiting the work of over 40 of the West's most creative companies, from the fields of product design, graphics, digital media, interiors, architecture, illustration, photography and exhibition design.

The guest speaker, D&AD President, Simon Waterfall, spoke at the sell out event about his experiences co-founding Deepend design; the number one creative agency in the UK (three years running), and setting up Poke; the UK's number one digital studio (2006).

West of England Design Forum Chair, Bob Mytton, said: "The Designers Showcase has proved to be a strong catalyst for linking together our creative industries to form a tangible collaborative network, whilst also helping commissioning businesses to recognise the hotbed of leading edge design companies based within this region."

As well as attracting nearly 600 individuals, including businesses, design graduates and members of the public, the event also drew interest from designers from as far a field as New Zealand.
